Two sentenced, but Jennings still awaits trial

Peterson gets life sentence; Street gets 45-year sentence, 30 to serve and 15 on probation

Savanna Marie Jennings, 18, who has been identified by authorities as the granddaughter of murder victim Otha Perrin, still awaits trial for that murder, although her two co-defendants have entered pleas of guilty.

In July William David Peterson, 19, entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced to life in prison in July.

Peterson will be able to apply for parole in 2048.

On Aug. 13, Dakota Scott Street, 18, entered a negotiated plea of guilty for his actions in the murder case.

Street was sentenced to 45 years in the case, 30 years to serve and 15 years on probation. The  plea was negotiated between Northern Judicial Circuit District Attorney Parks White, local law enforcement and Street’s attorney. (Continued on page 1)
