After a Madison County industrial development authority signed a contract with an incinerator operator in Colbert last month calling for the authority to provide up to 1.25 million gallons of water per day, Elberton’s city council will provide most of that water, according to Elberton City Manager Lanier Dunn.
According to a contract signed between the Madison County Industrial Development and Building Authority and the City of Elberton, Elberton will be obligated to run a water line to the Broad River once the authority sends a letter informing Elberton to proceed.
During the meeting, the council honored Elbert County's Junior League World Series qualifiers at Elberton City Hall. Elbert County's team won the Southeast Regional to qualify for the 2018 Wrold Series competition near Detriot, Migigan three weeks ago.
