The 2018 Homecoming Parade, which begins a three-day celebration, will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the scoreboard end of the Granite Bowl on Church Street.
It will go up Church Street to Thomas Street, turn left onto Heard Street, and then proceed to Sutton Square, where the cheerleaders and Homecoming Court will dismount for a pep rally.
The Homecoming Court, Class Representatives, and Senior Football players and their sponsors will be riding in the parade along with several ECCHS clubs and the marching band.
The ECCHS Varsity Cheerleaders and Junior Varsity Cheerleaders will be participating as well.
For the first time in Elbert County history, homecoming festivities at the high school will include the selection of a “Homecoming King” in addition to a “Homecoming Queen.”
That announcement came from Elbert County Comprehensive High School (ECCHS) last week, in addition to the announcement about the homecoming events on Friday, Sept. 14 and Saturday, Sept. 15.
The student body will elect the Homecoming Queen from seven finalists in the senior class – Brandy Cervantes, Princouz Goodman, Ale Guerrero, Zoe’ Harris, Lily Johnson, Taylor Smith and Jalien Strong.
The student body will also elect the historic first Homecoming King from seven finalists in the senior class – Bryan Bradford, Dawson Dye, Metrius Fleming, Daniel Lavender, Richard Moon, Mario Saponari and Jamison Syphore.
This year, the homecoming dance will be in the ECCHS Multi-Purpose Room on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m.
Tickets will be on sale at the high school starting today (Sept. 5) for $5 per student.
That price will go to $10 per student on Sept. 10.
Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15.
