SafeHouse Ministries, Inc. announced last week it is the recipient of the old Coca-Cola property at the corner of Elbert Street and Lockin Street in Elberton.

“This is a huge blessing for this ministry,” Sue Beitzel said in a news release last week. “We plan to use the property to its full capacity.”

According to Beitzel, SafeHouse will be moving all its business operations and its food pantry to the old Coca-Cola facility.

In addition to the business operations, Beitzel said SafeHouse hopes it can offer possible medical services, counseling, furniture assistance, clothing assistance and more at the centrally located facility.

“We are extremely thankful for this donation and hope to better serve Elbert County and surrounding areas,” said Beitzel. “We will need volunteers who are willing to partner alongside SafeHouse to impart their gifts and talents.”

Beitzel said SafeHouse will need construction workers and supplies that could be donated as a tax-deductible offering.

Those who would like to volunteer or would like more information on the restoration of the building may call Beitzel at 706-213-7657.
